  • Impact of heat transfer on the evaporation pond was investigated.

ABSTRACT

This study overviews the impact of heat transfer on the evaporation pond. One of the applications of the solar pond is the evaporation pond. The use of evaporation pond is to concentrate brine for salt production. A complicated study was done and compared the impact of different temperatures on the evaporation pond with a presence and absence of a heat exchanger. A mathematical model was derived to carry out the calculations and the model was implemented using MATLAB. The results from the study suggest that the high temperature enhances the process of evaporation, while the high humidity reduces the rate of evaporation. Furthermore, it was found that the smaller the size of the pond the lower its evaporation rate.
